4 Ways Technology Helps Improve Managing Security Patrols

The manned security guard market in Thailand is big. With relatively lower labor costs compared to other countries, coupled with the need to ensure sufficient monitoring of residential areas, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, industrial sites, etc., it is typical to see a large security presence when you venture out. However, managing large teams of security personnel has always been a challenge with attendance tracking being one of the biggest pain points for supervisors. Traditionally, attendance is kept using manual records which creates a great deal of administration work, and in the end may not be accurate.  Thankfully, there are now companies introducing smart guarding solutions to enhance their manned security guard offerings to make security patrols more effective and these types of pain points easier to manage.  In this blog, we will look at 4 ways technology helps improve managing security patrols.

1) Automatic attendance monitoring

The traditional clock-in, clock-out system for attendance monitoring is not only manually intensive for supervisors, it is also unreliable and can have the issue of false check-ins which is of great concern for management. A smart guard attendance solution, such as the one offered by Guardforce Thailand as part of its Smart Guarding Solution, uses biometric checks, including fingerprint or facial recognition analysis, to ensure the authenticity of attendance and prevent false check-ins. All records can be uploaded and reports generated easily to minimize manual calculations and enhance accuracy and efficiency. Management can access the records through a web-based portal anytime, anywhere.

2) More effective guard communication tools

Communication and coordination between guards during patrols is essential.  Unlike the traditional walkie-talkie which can cause delays in communication, Guardforce Thailand’s smart guarding solution offers Push-to-Talk Over Cellular (PoC) to ensure stable communication. The system is coupled with a Dispatch Application to allow group calling and GPS tracking, while the Management Application can be configured for customers to track guards’ real-time location remotely, allowing for a new level of visibility for supervisors.

3) Real-time patrol status checking

With a smart guard patrolling solution, an NFC card for check-in is installed at each patrol check point, allowing supervisors and management to view the real-time patrol status of each patrol route. This system enhances patrol efficiency and also significantly reduces manual administration and paperwork. Most importantly, it also helps to stop false check-ins.

 4) Advanced visitor management

Guardforce Thailand’s smart visitor management system is a perfect solution for commercial and residential sites to eliminate the need for manual signing in for visitors. It allows all visitors entering the premises to be tracked online and can create real-time access to certain areas. The data can be viewed by multiple parties, including both security guards and control rooms for improved visibility and coordination. The system is fully compliant with the Personal Data Protection Act and streamlines the security vetting process, both enhancing the customer experience by reducing waiting times, and the overall effectiveness of security at the premises.
