Thailand’s Department of Airports (DOA) organized Recurrent Screener and Screening Supervisor training courses for 260 DOA officers in class 1-12 for the fiscal year 2021. DOA Deputy Director-General, Mr. Somkiat Maneesathit, opened the training on 7th June.

The training was held during 7th-19th June via a video conference system at the DOA Conference Room. Mr. Samang Munmai and Mr. Surawat Boonrod, Certified Instructors from Guardforce Aviation Security Company Limited, were instructors for the training.

The Recurrent Screener Course and Screening Supervisor Course aim to review the knowhow, searching skills and updated rules and regulations, including raising awareness of aviation security and competencies for working in airport security.

The training topics comprise 4 parts:

1.Security Awareness Training

2.Security Screener

3.Screening Supervisor (Specialized Training)

4.English for Airport Screener

The training is in accordance with the enforcement of the National Civil Aviation Security Training Program for the Kingdom of Thailand (NCASTP) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand and the Aviation Security Training Program for Department of Airport (ASTP for DOA）, which requires refresher training every year. This is to ensure that the Screener Officers of the DOA maintain the knowledge and qualifications of the Screener Certificate as set out in the ASTP for DOA and always be proficient.
