Every organisation needs quality security officers to deliver reliable security services to protect assets and people round the clock, be it for residential developments, condominiums, offices, bank branches, department stores or metro train stations. Why not access top-notch and well-trained professionals through Guardforce? Guardforce applies a proven recruitment policy to build a trustworthy crew of security guards who meet eight fundamental criteria.

Eight qualities we value in security officers

  1. Loyalty: This is important as security officers are entrusted to take care of valuables and lives. When evaluating a security services supplier, find out about the company’s recruitment process, and whether there is stringent background checks on criminal records.
  2. Responsibility: Security officers must have a great sense of responsibility to take on important security functions. On-time attendance is one element that reflects how conscientious a security officer is.
  3. Patience: A security officer must be very patient to persevere in the job that involves working in shifts, sweltering heat or dangerous situations.
  4. Readiness: Security officers must have the presence of mind to handle unpredictable incidents proactively.
  5. Alertness: Security officers must constantly observe the surrounding and notice anything unusual around them.
  6. Physical readiness: Security officers have to perform duties in different weather conditions, so they have to maintain physical fitness and great health.
  7. Communication skills: Security officers should have good skills in speaking and writing to help them communicate with others while they perform their duties.
  8. Service skills: Security officers must be adaptable to work in variable hours and in different assigned locations with a diverse range of organisations. They must also be able to learn fast to meet customers’ requirements.

As well as these personal qualities, security officers also need to meet legal requirements to be issued a Security Officer License under Thailand’s Security Business Act, which stipulates that licensed Security Officer must be:

  1. A Thai national
  2. Aged above 18 years
  3. Have completed compulsory education
  4. Have obtained a certificate of security training from a training centre certified by the Central Registrar

People with the following characteristics will not be eligible to become a security officer:

  1. Addicted to alcohol drugs, or a carrier of a contagious disease
  2. Mentally ill or incompetent
  3. Was imprisoned for offences related to life, body, property, sexual misdemeanours, or drugs
